Contessa was starting to get a clear head. Slowly anyways. The walk. The fresh air. All were helpful in refocusing her mind. And she sighed softly as she looked over her shoulder at him. If that mind numbing fear wasn't there, she'd melt a little every time she looked at her co-workers. Especially with them warring over her. It was sweet in a weird sorta way.
She shivered at the touch and looked over at him, as if really seeing him for the first time tonight. Her head hurt, and she wanted nothing more than to curl up in a hot bath, but what was he up to? "Perhaps. I'm not very social, I'm afraid, but it would do me good to get out of the office more for other reasons than sleep and the bar." she said with a laugh that was both light and nervous.
"Tea would be lovely. Get my head back on straight, as it were." she nodded softly and let him guide her off towards the drawing room. She looked around as they went, taking in the place, with a faint smile on her lips. Nice, opulent and rich were nothing new to her, but it was nice to see how everyone decorated differently. Made her curious to know what the walls had seen and heard.
To say that Contessa trusted him would be simplifying the complexity of their relationship. She trusted him, to a point, like she did everyone else. But he never knew things about her - no one really did. She kept a lot of her to herself, bottled up in fear or worry. Contessa often appeared closed off and she was, she didn't want to be, but she was. This she hoped was a step in the right direction.
