Now that he was over his surprise, Bill was able to find the humor in the situation. He grinned at his mother. "Couldn't wait until Sunday?" he asked, his eyes dancing. Since they were all aware of his mother's reasons for stopping by, he saw no reason to pretend otherwise.
He remembered the photo in his hand, and held it out to his mother. "We were unpacking pictures." Sometimes a picture was worth a thousand words, and he thought this may be one of those cases. His mother knew him well enough to read his expression; even though they had barely started dating at the time, he looked like a man who was utterly gone on his date. He wasn't great with words--there were things he couldn't quite get up the nerve to tell Fleur--but his mum deserved to know that he was moving in with a woman he had been besotted with from the start.
