Albus Dumbledore had abandoned his post as Headmaster and Harry Potter thought that what the DA needed to hear was an apology and not, you know, information about what the dog's ass was going on. It was impossible to lead a group -- and group -- when the people they were meant to look to were blaming themselves of cock-ups. He didn't want to hear how sorry Potter was or about the mistakes that he thought Dumbledore had made. He also didn't need that being shared with the whole of the Army -- the very same group of people who needed to be built up now that Snape had taken over the school, and not disheartened. Neville wanted to shake Harry, or punch him. He wasn't sure which.
He was so lost in his own cloud of thought that he didn't even notice Draco Malcfoy walking towards him. Or at least, he didn't until his shoulder struck against the other boy's. It didn't matter if Draco had done it on purpose or not, Neville's immediate reaction was to throw his arm up and shove Draco away -- probably a bit harder than he'd even intended to.
