"I was hired to study dreams." She explained to him calmly, "and recently I've made some discoveries which need to be explored. However to do that, I need to study people who are dreaming--it is really that simple. I've had some volunteers and people who've shown interest in the project but there is not much I can do, or much further I can go without proper testing."
She could manipulate people's dreams and changed their memories through their dreams. There was no way that she could do it without them knowing, not yet, but it could happen and she wanted to push it as far as it would go. Altering people's minds, however, was not someone generally sanctioned by anything.
There was also Andrew Kirke, the young man who -- in her notes -- she started to refer to as the 'abnormal dreamer'. Andrew has dreams about people right before they died. It wasn't people that he knew, besides once, and it wasn't that he checked the obituaries to see if he was right. He just dreamed about it, and then people died. He wanted it to stop, but she certainly didn't want to because he'd hit upon something stuck between dreams and prophecy that she had never seen before. An abnormal dreamer. She wanted him.
