Walden was a businessman and a good one at that. "It's a one time offer, take it or leave it." If she was anything like he thought she was she wouldn't refuse the offer. The box had that allure to it, you had to know what it held. There was just something about being the first to know and maybe that's why it was alluring. He was sure he could get her to do the job for a lower wage but he liked to come on strong.
"What do you say?" Walden said as he reached out and slid the box back towards him a bit in a teasing fashion. He wanted to see just how much she was dying to take a closer look at the box, to get to work on it. "Is my puzzle box worth the offer or should I go to my backup?" There was no need for her to know that one curse-breaker had already shot him down.
