All Alexander had hoped for was the new year to start off on a good note, however, that wasn't the case. The last two weeks had been more confusing than he wanted them to be. If it wasn't the issue with Catriona that plagued his thoughts, then it was the conversation with Emmeline. Of course, both of his sisters were in his mind as well. They were the reason that he had gotten himself in such a mess, ties with the Ministry and the Dark Lord. He wanted to keep them save and out of mind with any and all Death Eaters. So far, it seemed to have worked. Neither had come to him with such an negative issue, even though Daphne teased danger by talking to a certain individual. As much as Alexander wished that part of her life ceased, it was her choice, despite the fact that it began to feel as though everything he had done to keep them save was for nothing and becoming too much to bare.
Unlike others, Alexander could separate his private life from the professional aspects of it. He appeared as a good member to society and loyal individual to the Ministry. Within, there were plenty of doubts. It had opened his eyes to a new side of things.
Alexander had arrived earlier than usual for a Friday to start his work schedule. There were things that he needed to accomplish before his meeting with Troy. A certain bit of dislike had always been there long before the promotion arrived. It had nothing to do with private matters either, despite the fact that there were a few unspoken ones. The meeting was professional, and nothing else. It was what the Ministry ordered, including a background check of blood status as well.
Just as he stacked a load of paperwork together and placing it off to the side, Alexander heard the knock at the door. "Come in," he answered, not bothering to look in the direction of Troy initially. However, once the he had entered the office fully, Alexander stood from his seat in a professional matter with an outstretched hand to greet him. "Good morning, Mister Troy. I hope that you brought all of your current work and projects with you."
