Honestly, Stephen really thought his parents would be smarter than this trust him to stay grounded. It wasn't like Stephen was typically prone to bad behaviour, or consistently breaking being grounded or curfew or anything. In all actuality, Stephen was a good kid, but sometimes, he just didn't see his parent's logic and that's when he typically did things like that. It wasn't like he did anything bad to get himself grounded, he just made the desert from the other night float into the dining room from the kitchen in front of his grandparents. His muggle grandparents. He still wasn't sure what the big deal was, his grandparents knew that his mother, and his brothers were all magical, but apparently it was a big deal. Something about "you need to think about things first" and "just because you're 17 doesn't mean you can do magic all the time", or something, Stephen tuned his father out about half way into the speech. Not because he didn't care, it was more or less because his brother Scotty had apperated into the back yard and was making faces and trying to get him to laugh.
So, he waited a good hour after his parents went to bed, Stephen grabbed his bag, opened up his window and climbed onto a branch from the tree that grew near by and easily climbed down it and made it a few blocks away and made sure he wasn't in a area where people could see him (like they'd really be watching or were able to see anything due to, well, the dark.) before he appearted to the Park where he was going to meet Dean. As he looked around for a bit, as he looked for his friend all the while thinking how fun it was going to be to light these babies off. Impromptu fireworks show, clearly they were doing the world a service, rather than some random act of what might amount to vandalism if some of these didn't go off the way they were supposed to. But, Stephen had all the faith in the world in their ability to light off these without a hitch, as well as the quality of fireworks (a mix between his remaining Dr. Filibuster's Fabulous Wet-Start No-Heaters, and some that he'd gotten WWW shop when he was at Diagon the other day.).
"Oi! Over here!" Stephen said in a mock-whisper as he waved down his friend when he spotted Dean.
