Closing his journal, Greogry had already taken the liberty of heading down the the common room once he had written it down for Tamsin to basically join him. Even though he had done so before she agreed to it, there wasn't a doubt in his mind that she would be meeting him down there shortly. Most of the stuff that he had wrote to her were said in a joking way. There wasn't a need anymore to tell her as often as he used to that he didn't mean any of the negative things. Hell, Gregory knew that she didn't smell like stinky fish. It was a chance on some days that she could have the scent of cinnamon though. He wasn't sure exactly. It wasn't like he leaned into smell exactly what she smelt like every single day or between classes. That would be beyond weird.
Gregory shook the thought out of his mind, leaning back on the couch and glancing over towards the side of the room that lead to the girl's dormitories, knowing that Tamsin would be down shortly. As much as he loved spending time with her doing just about everything and anything, he had really initiated the challenge to make sure that she was okay. He knew that Tamsin was no where near a fragile girl per say, despite the fact that she was a walking hazard. It was more so towards the fact that if his best friend had returned home for the holidays, she would have to go through the trouble boarding the train. There was a difference about talking about punching and actually doing it. Gregory just wanted to make sure that she was perfectly fine in person.
The new year could have started in a positive light, but that would be stupid to think that would actually happen, especially with how things were going in the Ministry. It caused tension between everyone to the point that some people decided to weigh options in returning to school or not. As much as Gregory thought that wasn't the smartest choice, he had to respect what his fellow prefect wanted.
With his thoughts distracted, a smile spread across his features as she finally entered the common room. "Oi, took you long enough to get down here. I've been waiting forever for you," he stated jokingly. It seemed as though he had waited for quite a while, but Gregory would have said the same thing if he had to wait a couple of seconds. "For. Ev. Er," he added slowly, elongating the words vocally.
