Who Aiden Kiely & Mary MacDonald What Dinner! When December 30th Where Pied à Terre Status Closed/Incomplete Rating Low, probably
A retired Quidditch pro meant that, occasionally when he was out in public people would notice him. They'd ask him for autographs or his picture would turn up in one of the sports papers that circulated. What that meant was that he had to be careful how often he let that happen with Alexander Jones. He certainly didn't mind being written up as out to dinner with his 'friend' Alexander, but he didn't want any rumours circulating that he was gay.
It wasn't something that Aiden was at all ashamed of, but it didn't lend itself well to the people that he spent his time with. The Death Eaters were bigots, all of them. In some ways that Aiden appreciated, of course, and in other ways that he did not. Their views on homosexuality--or at least the majority of them--weren't something he wanted to reckon with. So, he made sure to be seen out and about with eligible ladies from time to time. He didn't know Mary MacDonald, of course, having never gone to Hogwarts himself, but the only real danger was if she turned out to be a Muggleborn and he didn't have any idea about that.
He got to the restaurant and opted to wait outside, smoking a cigarette to pass the time before MacDonald arrived. MacDonald, he mused, was a Scottish name and he wondered it that was where she was from. People were always a bit thrown off by his accent, really, and they could never quite place it. He was Irish-sounding, mostly, but there was a trace of something else and no one could sort out and what was the result of moving to Germany when he was a child and then later attending Durmstrang before finally heading back to Ireland after the Kenmore Kestrals picked him up.
