Who Miles Bletchley & Daphne Greengrass What Exchanging VChristmas Gifts When Christmas Eve Where Greece Status Incomplete Rating ???
Bletchley hadn't intended to spend all of his Christmas bonus on gifts for Daphne, it had just sort of turned out that way. Particularly with the addition of a a ring that, well, he felt like he needed to pick up only because when he looked at it it just spoke to him. He didn't really intend to use it but he didn't want to pass it up, either.
Well, that wasn't entirely true. He hadn't had any intention of using it until he and Daphne'd got to talking about how perfect everything was here and how incredible being with each other actually was. He hadn't had any intention of using it until he'd thought about how young his parents were when they were murdered and how short life really was. Miles, after living on the run and in hiding for so long, had become a person that lived every single day like it might be his last. He wasn't so sure that Daphne was there with him for that--he certainly didn't want to pressure her into feeling like she had to be--but at the same time, he didn't like to wait for the things he wanted. Not when he felt so sure about them.
And so, in the wee hours of the morning he crept from the bed that he shared with Greengrass and prepared her Christmas presents, all boxed and wrapped, with the breakfast the elf had already scrambled up. He knew it was a day early, but he didn't want to wait any longer.
With everything ready, he crawled back into bed beside Daphne, and attempted to wake her gently by rubbing the side of his finger across her cheek.
