Who Alfie Cattermole & Harmony Summers
What Heartache (and hand ache)
When Just after these incidents
Where Hufflepuff Common Room
Rating PG-13?
Harmony was somewhere between drunk and high and while it had felt good when he'd taken it, the buzz had certainly worn off by the time he'd seen Terry, beautiful, unreachable Terry, in the Hall. The Hufflepuff couldn't remember who he'd spoken to, who he'd tried to dance with, the fact that he'd tried to kiss any guy he was on first name basis with who happened to get in his way, where he'd lost his top layers - all he could remember, like woodcut relief scored straight into his head, was Terry and that he should have been there kissing him but that he couldn't anymore.
The substances he'd taken were already roiling in his stomach by the time the first large, painfully, hiccupy sob escaped him and he felt his stomach turn with both grief and the battering it was taking.
He turned tail and ran, away away away from seeing him because it hurt too much and then he threw up in a potted plant, heaving and coughing and hacking messily through his tears. He was barely aware of Alfie beside him but, after he'd cleaned his mouth off, he staggered his way to the Hufflepuff dorm, still feeling very sick and wanting to go to bed in a place where the world wasn't spinning in watercolours and where Terry hadn't gone to a special place with him before telling him it was a place too far.
He didn't know that Alfie had gone back to hurt the boy he still loved for hurting him. He just knew that as much as his head was spinning and his stomach was turning and his limbs felt heavy and the rest of him just weird, his fucking heart was torn apart and nothing he was doing could make it mulch back together again. He made it to the floor by the couch in front of the fireplace, the room abandoned for the party, slumped himself half over the couchseats and cried into them like a child.
