When Sebastian smiled at her, Matty became clearly curious and went to ask him what was so funny but her thoughts were so instantly dissolved when he touched her. Instantly, two things happened: her face grew red hot where his hand landed on her skin and he was kissing her, and everything was gone. The way that her hand went to his jaw was almost instinctive and her other hand went to the back of his neck, like she wanted to hold him in place for just that second, just that second.
Just earlier that day they were talking about dogs, and then the squid. The walk around the lake, the time they traded records. Of all of the times he had told her she was ugly and to shut up, and the way that those words got under her skin, she had never though anything of those things until just right then. She gently pulled him closer and smiled, her face flushed bright red and lips wet.
She didn’t want to talk first so she just waited for him to, afraid to break that moment. Afraid that he wouldn’t do it again.
