"Divorced?" She looked over her shoulder as she filled the kettle at the sink. She didn't want to dwell too much on that, because there was nothing that killed a conversation more than mulling over failed relationships. She was a bit curious, of course, about his relationship with the mother of his triplets, but she hoped that she'd see him again enough times that an inquiry about such things would be more acceptable, and so she continued talking so he could just hop over the subject of his marriage if he wanted to.
