Waved over, Jack stuck his hands into the pockets of his robes. He tried to smile, but when he saw the little set up that Nico had put together, his heart sank a little. If Pye had been older, Jack would have found all this to be a bit creepy, but he knew it was all innocent enough and that Nico's enthusiasm was from a good place.
Pye had obviously put a lot of effort into throwing all this together, but Jack still wasn't really sure why. Yes, Sloper had an ego, he knew he was smart and he liked to be clever, but he didn't really see himself as anyone that anyone would want to date. Fool around or have fun with, sure, Michael Corner had more or less proved that over the summer, but not date. Colin's interest in him was different, that he chalked up to the fact that Creevey knew him better than anyone. It really didn't explain what Nico wanted, or why.
"Hi." Jack smiled and did another once over of the little picnic set up that the fourth year had arranged. "Wow, you did all of this yourself?"
