Colin nodded as he scratched the back of his head nervously. He was frowning, he hadn’t meant to hurt her, though he imagined people rarely set out with the intention of doing anything of the like. He still wanted to be her friend, but he felt like offering that little gem out there may have just made things worse.
“I’m really sorry, Poppy. I am.” He said softly. He didn’t know what to do, he wanted her to hurt less, but hugging her would be in appropriate, as would be trying to tell her any of what had brought this on. He was honestly at a loss for words, which had never happened before.
