He had left a note for his mum and dad, sure that this sort of trip to Luna's house would be fine to take. He would be going from one place to directly to another, without any risk, and he was pretty certain Luna's father would be around, writing articles for the Quibbler. He had taken some care with what he was wearing, even if it was casual, perfect for fishing and messing about in the water. But he had wanted to make a good impression, and his anxious energy was directed into that, having stood for the better part of twenty minutes, baffled as to which shirt he mght wear that would communicate his budding feelings for her.
The party the night before had been great, with loads of people coming and Neville was still in awe of the gifts Harry had gotten, and the gifts people had given him as well. He loved his leather jacket and thought he looked very cool in it. He was looking forward to going guitar shopping later that week with his dad as well. He was eager to get it, having been practicing on a beat up old thing that he'd found at a market sale in the village. It barely held a tune, and it was great for learning upon, but now, Neville would have something better to play on at school.
There had been loads of adults at the party as well, and Neville knew that they were Order members. He suspected that there had been more going on than just a social call; he only hoped that his parents weren't going to be offering to get into any sort of danger. He didn't like thinking about what his parents did. While they were very skilled wizards, his parents were dedicated aurors and that meant they threw themselves into the thick of thing. He had to hand it to them though; they had certainly put together a heck of a party for he and Harry.
Neville made it down the stairs and found the house quiet and empty. He gathered up his fishing tackle box and a rod, as well as a maverick in case of rain, and stepped into the green flames. He arrived in a oddly shaped fireplace, and carefully stepped out, and called out, "Luna? Its Neville."
