Natalie snapped her book shut. It was not like she was actually studying, there was too much going on in the world to bother with something as simple as studying. Though she was surprised how normal things were at Hogwarts considering. Yes, there were still students upset and rightly so but their world was going on. Professors still expected them to be in class and with their assignments done and done on time. She knew she should be working on a particular nasty Defense Against the Dark Arts essay for Snape, but she wasn't. Instead she found herself digging out her Potions book, a book she never used as she knew it all any how. Potions was by far her easiest subject and she knew she could get an O on the OWL even if she took it now. It was just natural instinct to her.
Either way, Natalie's thoughts drifted to her family. They were Muggles. They had no idea what was going on and that was because Natalie hadn't mentioned it. It wasn't exactly something that you included in a PS on a letter or something. Of course she was going to have to tell them, but when was another story. Maybe over Christmas. Maybe she would write them a letter and downplay the whole thing. Was it fair of her? Surely not. Her parents had a right to know but Natalie did not want to be one of those students who weren't allowed to return to school. Her parents would surely put their foot down and tell her no. They were just a bit over protective of their youngest daughter.
"Hey." Natalie said smiling softly at the student that sat in the vacant seat next to her. She didn't say more because honestly, what did you say? They were all aware of what was going on. That and Natalie was pretty shy. It was hard enough for her to carry a conversation with another person, friend or stranger.
