Geoffrey shrugged a little bit, mindful of Harmony's closeness, "I guess it's my dad." He admitted finally, a part of him glad he had told someone and another feeling incredibly selfish as he sat next to his muggleborn friend. "He left."
Which was probably a good thing, it meant that his dad was safe, that his grandparents were safe too and Geoffrey's halfblood status kept him relatively out of harm. It was just that he had done such a good job at distancing himself from all this crap. The people going missing, the deaths, the war, you-know-who, that was all stuff in the papers, far away stuff that didn't touch him. But it did, now it did, Jimmy left this morning, his dad was hiding, and his friends were scared. Geoffrey was scared.
He wasn't supposed to be scared.
