Contessa smiled softly at him. "I am glad to hear it - I lament the fact we were so close and now so far apart." she said honestly as she closed the door behind him. "Having a housemate is wonderful for making the house look nice. I think it has done me a world of good." she said softly, although there was no hint to anything else. He was her housemate, and despite perhaps a want, nothing more. But it was certainly nice to have Taveon here. The company was nice.
"No, nothing dire. A week absence was worth your birthday. I do hope that it went well?" she asked with a tilt of her head as she gestured to the table. It was laid with the fine china and nice silverware. Contessa missed her friendship with Alexander, it was something she had looked forward to working on during off hours and now she wasn't sure what was going on. She hadn't seen him in what felt like weeks.
"You are too sweet, by the by. If you were busy, you could have told me so!" she was still shy but not nearly as shy as she had been weeks, almost months, prior.
