It was very hot in that silverware closet, even if it was only slightly smaller than the trophy room at Hogwarts. She'd been in there quite a while and was not at all pleased to be. She'd only put a lock on the door recently--when those unsavory types had started to mill about the Manor--but she was glad for it now, and as she sat on the floor, she wondered exactly what it was she'd tell Severus when he arrived.
The truth, she eventually decided, was the best option. There was very little she'd ever kept from Severus, and he was one of the very few people that she considered to be a true friend. She liked him, even if he was humorless and old well beyond his years. He was a man whom she'd always found interesting as well. Perhaps because he'd always struck her as a person with many secrets tucked nicely around his soul. Sometimes, she wondered what he might be like were he not so bitter.
She hoped that Draco hadn't come home yet. She had every intention of going downstairs with Severus if he hadn't because she wanted to see to it that he was safely in his room before she went to his own. She hoped that his party had been successful--or at least more successful then Harry's as it was meant to be. At the very least, she knew that her party--or Draco's rather--would be far more impressive and extravagant than anything those Potters could muster up.
She heard a noise and turned her wand towards the door of the closet as she climbed back to her feet. She rarely used the Unforgiveables, and indeed she wasn't very skilled with them, but if it was Antonin again, she was fully prepared to---well, well petrify him, at least.
