There was a subtle sense of idle boredom about Harold Dingle today, like he was having difficulty filling his time. He'd barely touched his Lunch, excusing himself from Hufflepuff table with a wrapped up napkin of crisps. It wasn't unheard of. Sometimes the people closed in around Harold and he needed to get a spot of fresh, open air before his claustrophobia tried to set in.
With his head duck down and eyes intent on his guitar, he was alternating between picking at the chorus of More than a Feeling and the opening riff of I Want You but committing to neither. To his ear, the riff sounded odd in the acoustic setting. Hogwarts' prohibitive anti-technology runes made it all but impossible to play traditionally. And so he eventually abandoned it in favor of the smoother winding acoustics of More Than a Feeling.
Harold didn't usually sing along on these forays but let the notes each resonate through the stone walkways and up the stairwells. He was impressed by the hall's ability to carry distance, but not delighted by the richness of it's depth. He preferred a few choice sweet spots around the castle and decided to skip History of Magic today. He decided he'd tuck into the space, close his eyes and play. Just play. Whatever came into his head, let it organically flow.
That lightened his playing from casual plucking the notes to a deep and soulful focus on each and every chord. He paused only to finger a crisp or two into his mouth and even then with the peculiar habit of not using his pick fingers to do it. He pinched them between his pinky and ring finger and dropped them into his mouth.
