Terry was silent after he'd asked and Harmony felt his rabbit heart leap into his throat ready to make a dash out of his mouth as he expected the worst until Terry finally responded and reassured him. That sinking feeling wasn't relief though; he listened and he didn't know what to feel. He wanted to wave away the other's concerns immediately and say 'yes' and 'of course', annul the break and take Terry back and finally shut that nagging, ache inside him up properly, but same nagging feeling seemed to have little hooks in his stomach which tugged. Reminded him that Terry had suggested the break because he'd wanted more than they'd had and more than he could give if they weren't living in the same school. That he'd wanted to 'have fun' this summer with the obvious implication there that he wouldn't have had that with Harmony. Because he wasn't sure.
Only, the other part of him argued, only Harmony had agreed to it and besides, Terry had decided now and he wanted to make it up and he'd come all this way to say this in person.
Harmony couldn't help the niggling doubt that whispered, louder than any argument, that this change of heart was a little convenient coming just before the new school year, that Harmony couldn't know that Terry wouldn't drop him again to go after someone better, or that he wasn't using him because they'd both be at Hogwarts, that Harmony would be conveniently there.
Harmony was Harmony though and all he had to do was follow his heart - it was the only actual decision he would have come to anyway, regardless of any kind of sensible argument.
He smiled a little, diluted but warm and matched in his eyes and just for Terry. "I don't want to be on a break either." he said firmly and then shifted before closing the distance between them and somewhat tentatively reaching to hug Terry, his head against Terry's chest (and when had that happened?) and he finally felt right for the first time since they'd cooled things off.
