And he decided not to wait in the common room, a bit worried that he would have to explain to Megan why he wasn't going straight down to dinner. Alfie needed a favor for him, possibly just a kiss or two and then they would go to the Great Hall and that would be that. He'd try to get Alfie to explain what he was on about, why now Alfie needed the practice, with him no less. Ayers wasn't going to complain; he owed Alfie from the summer. Never mind that the brief intimacy they had shared had been very pleasant, Ayers liked the idea of getting in a bit more practice with a lad. He was getting plenty of practice with Megan, and that was brilliant, bloody brilliant. But Ayers still couldn't stop looking at Michael in class, or a couple of other blokes, even if he would not act upon it. The last thing he wanted to do was hurt Megan. Paying back Alfie was different. Alfie was a best mate, through and through. He'd do just about anything for him.
He left the round door ajar and got up from his bed, to dig through a dresser drawer to find a bit to snack on until Alfie got there. He managed to find a few sugar quills and a chunk of fudge that he happily took back to his bed to munch on while he waited for Alfie to show up. He hoped he'd be quick about it, so that they could have their bit of fun and then make it to dinner. Even if they missed it, he'd still get something for them from the kitchens, begging the House-elves if need be.
