There was a small nod when Tamsin had replied to his words. As much as Dean knew that he should respond more with a simple agreement, he couldn't really bring himself to do such a thing. His father didn't deserve to be given that title, especially since he ran out on his mother when he was still a small child. Of course, everything that he knew about the other man was merely second hand conversation from his mother. She was the only one that knew the truth, or what it appeared to be, so there was no reason to second guess the woman. Besides, he had long given up on figuring the identity of his real father years ago. "Yeah," he responded with a slight pause, before giving her a half a smile. "It's a common ground that no one else has." He didn't really have to explain either. That was the best part.
"Yeah, a small one," he replied in agreement, despite the fact that he thought he was a bit taller than a small tree to be honest. Even so, Dean was thoroughly amused by Tamsin. There was no doubt about that. Sure, they've talked before, but not a great deal. Maybe that would be changed after that day. It was also easy to tell that the dark haired girl was all over the place. If it wasn't with her body movements, it was with her words. "I'm only teasing. If you want me to draw you, I will. We'll just have to figure out a time that's best for both of us." He just hoped that he hadn't made her think too much on what entitled as good.
Placing a hand on her shoulder for a few seconds, Dean shook her just slightly to lighten the mood. It wasn't as though he wasn't enjoying their conversation, but he really did want to help her with her defense. Hopefully, she didn't take it in a negative way. "Shield charms are good. Are you having trouble with those?" he asked, just to make sure where Tamsin was at currently with her defense. "You can't go wrong with expelliarmus."
