Dear Verity, My name is Audrey Garrott and I wasn't feeling myself when we meet the other day, in the WWW shop. I am afraid I acted rather poorly, after you mentioned your relationship with Toad Cresswell. He was once a very important person in my life, and I realize that my reaction was rather startling. I left without explaining, and I felt I should write and apologize.
I hope the next time we run into each other, you won't hold it against me. And thank you for the magazine. I think it might be useful. Sincerely yours, Audrey Garrott
Dear Toad, I wanted to let you know that I met your girlfriend, Verity, the other day by chance. She seems very lovely but I was slightly surprised and basically ran out of the shop when I had the chance. I had not expected to meet someone important to you so soon, so I know I acted the utter idiot. I've written to her, to apologize and I thought I should tell you.
Please, I know you must be busy but I do want to try to meet with you, and explain. Apologize really. For everything. For being such a coward. For not telling you in person.
But I don't want to do this in a note. Not again. Thanks Toad, Audrey
