There was nothing like a morning run. Followed by a morning dance. Now, it wasn't as fun without her fellow Capoeiristas but she could still practice on her own and hope to get some people interested. She had a little capoeira music playing softly from a charmed box that she set down next to her. She dragged her toe in the dirt and made a smallish circle in which to play in. She spent ten minutes just swaying in the most basic step, the ginga(see about 1:05 mark, you may want to mute!) before she'd start some of the more flowery moves. She was happy, minding her own business. The day was bright, the air was crisp and the fog was burning off, giving everything a funky, dreamy haze. There was nothing better than losing one's self in a routine. Raquel loved playing the game, and that's all Capoeira was, now, when it comes down to it. Roda means game and that was life. She viewed life as a big game that you won by living it to the limits. She already missed Brasil - it had been hard to come back to England when she had skipped out the day after Graduation for the tropical land of home. But she was here now, and that's what mattered.
Capoeira was a game that cleared her mind. If she'd found her siblings, she'd have dragged them out to play with her. Her mum was sick, and her da' was working extra to take care of everything, and it was stressful. She was exhausted from the change of time zones, but she felt good. The cold air made her want to curl up in a ball, Brasil was so much warmer and nicer, but she liked the fall too. Autumn was love in her book. Winter was not. But playing Capoeira in the snow was fun too. Raquel was wearing white pants, bare feet and a white tank top, her long hair up in a pony tail. During her playing, Raquel never once touches the ground with anything but her head, hands and feet, although she's upside down in a handstand when she sees someone staring at her, she lifts up one hand and waves enthusiastically, a wide smile on her lips. Raquel wasn't much for anything but being happy.
