Down in the ditch was not even applicable to Hannah at this point. Her sister was missing, the Aurors were searching for her but nothing was said, all of her friends were trying to be there for her but she was pushing them away. Justin was being nice, Ernie was being a dream. Oh, Ernie. Another mess of a situation. Her feelings were all across the board - what was she supposed to do about any of it? It officially resigned herself to believe that there was nothing that she could really do and that it was best to try to smile. The only thing that was going to get her through it was some sort of laughter or at least dark humor.
So it was that she was eating lunch alone, a giant bowl of pudding and her journal in front of her that way she could aimlessly scan through the pages for anything interesting. She didn't know what she was looking for but it was going to be there if she looked hard enough. Hannah was so engrossed in reading that she barely noticed that a flash of blonde had sat down across the table. She didn't look up, expecting Lavender to say the first word.
