Dennis laughed a little at the idea of Dumbledore asking the merfolk to check, but part of him really wanted to consider it. Yes, it was a little ridiculous, but no, he wasn't all that concerned about appearing ridiculous.
Jimmy's words made Dennis' stomach plummet for a moment. "I- Oh." He blushed, chewing on his lower lip. Only now the idea was in his head and he couldn't help but react to it. Only that made things just a bit uncomfortable. "That...I hadn't thought about that, before." He blushed a little more. "Sorry. I didn't mean to...well, not know."
Pausing fora moment, Dennis arched an eyebrow. "What do you mean?" He listened quietly to Jimmy's story, laughing a little at his words. "I guess that was a bit confusing." He snorted at the part about Jimmy's mum trying to brandish a broom at McGonagall. "That must have been interesting. Mum and Dad weren't sure...but that was with Colin. When I got mine, they already knew it was real."
"So long as you don't mind," Dennis replied, smiling a bit to himself. "I tend to stay very close and somewhat cling." Which was true. The 'ow' made him move to glance toward Jimmy for a moment. "Are you okay?"
