He hadn't been on holiday this year, which was probably why he felt so eager to be back on the pitch. He had the triathlon coming up, but he wouldn't consider that a holiday and doubted many people would. Going away over summer break meant Japan to Aidan. He loved the country almost as much as his own. But this year he hadn't gone back. It would have been to weird, too achingly painful. He felt ridiculous about feeling that way, after all, he'd visited the country long before he'd even met Yoshihiro. But now all thoughts of Tokyo were connected to the Chaser.
Turning the collar up on his jacket, Aidan wrapped his arms around his chest, huddling against the chill September morning. Trying to shove all thoughts of Yoshi aside, he headed away from Gringotts towards the Quidditch shop. The coins in his pocket were for new arm guards and gloves, but there was a part of him that really wanted another tattoo. Something to represent the one constant companion he always had. But again, thoughts of ink tracked back to the memory of his last and of the man who'd suggested the artist.
Not paying attention, he walked past the Quidditch shop and had to double back on himself once he'd realised his mistake, almost walking into someone as he reached for the door. 'Sorry,' the apology was automatic, but when he lifted his gaze to see someone familiar, he managed a smile. 'Hi.'
