Jack was trying really hard not to seem as upset at he was. He was also trying really hard not to let on that he'd been crying, but the sight of Colin practically set him off again. He was there, his friend was there, and even if things weren't going to be all right, he had Colin.
He shook his head at the offer of sugar quills and put his hand up on Colin's arm. Jack had never been a subtle person, which was probably part of the reason that he'd taken to Colin in the first place. He did like people that spoke their minds, he liked honesty and he liked people who didn't spent their time griping about what other people were doing (he did enough of that himself) and Colin never did.
