Alex heard the sound of feet on the ground behind him and of course he turned his head, too insecure about his safety not to. Oh. Jimmy. Jimmy looking calmer than he thought he would, still traces of anger in his hands and the line of his mouth, but calm. That meant he'd made a decision and that meant that there was only reason he'd be coming by here in person.
He picked up his Billywig in it's jar, still clinging to the thing despite the many times he'd said that he didn't care about it anymore, and stood as Jimmy told him to, rubbing a little mud of his leg. He didn't say anything. He looked up at his friend with nothing on his face to give away what he was feeling, some slight jet glint of self hatred, the anger in his eyes that he couldn't hide because it was always there in some way shape or form but nothing of the certainty he felt that this was the last conversation he and Jimmy would ever have.
His lips were torn from chewing at them in his anger and he shivered in the cold that he didn't really register, certainly hadn't when he'd walked out here seething in fury. Hed watched the Squid in the lake reach a tentacle out to grab a low flying bird from the air, dragging it down below the water and he thought he knew what the bird had felt as it disappeared.
He wouldn't lift a hand against Jimmy, not even to defend himself. He hoped that Dennis kid knew how good he had it. He hoped he'd appreciate what he had more than Alex himself had done.
