Prompt: If I could be king even for a day
Viktor didn’t like crowds. He particularly didn’t like it when he was recognized in them and had to fight his way away from Quidditch fans when all he needed to do was a little shopping. It was harder to tell people in English that he had places to be, and he’d found himself drawn into too many conversations about how glad people who he had no idea of were that he was in England. It wasn’t that he didn’t like fans, but he felt like he was tripping over his tongue, here, and by the time he’d managed to fight his way through (metaphorically - his only battle wounds were a headache beginning) to the Leaky Cauldron, he was hungry. And glad for a drink.
Tom, at least, didn’t seem to be a fan, and poured him his pint and gave him his plate of chips without comment. Viktor had managed a drink and a handful of the chips when a woman who might have been forty years older than he was came up with a scrap of napkin and a quill.
He sighed, but managed a thick sort of smile and took it from her. “And your name?” He asked, his accent thick as ever, the woman giggled like she was seventeen as she told him how to make it out.
When one noticed, though, there were likely to be others - and Viktor could already see two men hitting each other in the shoulders at a table to the side of the bar, and standing up to head his way.
