At the request of Charlie, Hestia was avoiding her apartment for the evening. She knew he was wanting to have dinner with Percy, and from what she recalled things were tense to say the least. She wanted everything to go smoothly for the Weasley brothers - she even tidied up the place before she left, and that was saying something - and so she had put Fitz in his cage and brought Crayola to go out and about with her. (Merlin knew if she hadn't taken him with her that the sodding cat would have tripped up one of the brothers and just ruined the evening.) It wasn't often that she had a Friday evening all to herself (well, one that was out of the flat), and she wasn't sure exactly how to spend it. She had supposed that she would do a little shopping, possibly grab a bite to eat, but she had already been shopping in Diagon just a few days before. So why not go out into Muggle London? Donning her favorite David Bowie t-shirt and a pair of jeans that had definitely seen better days, Hestia had taken off, Crayola tagging along in a messenger bag over her shoulder. He really was an odd cat. The streets were full of teenagers, enjoying their summer hols, and with her height, Hestia nearly fit in with all of them. She had stepped into a record store, one of the places that had every album in existence and refused to go to the whole idea of CD's. It was endearing, and Hestia enjoyed the feel of the vinyl records between her fingers. She had always felt that she was born just a few years too late - she was meant to grow up during the sixties and seventies rather than be born at the tail end. At least, that's what her taste in music told her. She was studying the cover art to a Janis Joplin record when someone bumped into her. Glancing up from the record, she recognized a familiar mess of hair and a crooked smile. She couldn't help the wave of guilt that washed over her when she saw Kirley Duke. She desperately wanted the two to be friends, but considering their shared past, that was a bit more difficult than what she would have hoped for. "'Ello," despite the guilt, she was cheerful. "Looking for some ideas?" It was more than civility - it was genuine friendliness and jokes from her. If he would accept it, that is. |
