By the time that Pansy came downstairs into the common room, there was a small gathering of girls around a table in the center of the room. While she was interested in what had her classmates buzzing this morning, it was the murmuring of her name that brought Pansy straight to the table.
Younger girls parted to let Pansy in to see the vase of beautiful flowers. She reached out for the card and read it. A slow smile spread across her face. If you looked close enough, you could have sworn that there was a tiny blush on her cheeks.
Putting the card back in the envelope, she tapped it on her lips as she looked over the flowers. "Well, aren't they just lovely," Pansy said with a little self-satisfied smirk. "I should go and thank...well...thank Z." Pansy said "Z" with a little bit of a purr in her voice.
Dropping the card into her bag, Pansy reached out and took the vase in her hands. She took a deep breath of the beautiful blooms as she climbed the stairs back up to the rooms. They really would look beautiful next to her bed.
