WHO: Daphne Greengrass & Gavin Chambers.
WHAT: Daphne meets the boy that has been bothering her in her journals.
WHEN: Saturday evening, after dinner and about an hour before curfew.
WHERE: The Hogwarts Library.
RATING: Let's stick to PG, it really shouldn't exceed that rating.
Dinner, like most meals at Hogwarts, was extravagant, overwhelming and nauseating. The long rows of tables were laid out for a giant feast, all the different dishes overloading the senses as giant ogre-like students shoveled in their plates of food like they hadn't eaten in centuries. After being thoroughly disgusted by some of the table manners of the people around her, Daphne gave up attempting to stomach the food in the Great Hall. As some of the students went into food comas and retreated to the dormitories, Daphne took this as her chance to escape into the library for some peace and quiet. By Monday, Daphne knew her chances to find a quiet corner in the library was going to diminish.
Picking an unoccupied table near a window, Daphne pulled a book out of her bag and took a seat. There weren't a lot of sounds in the library. The occasional giggle from a younger year which was quickly followed by a sharp shush. Her ears picked up a few scratching from quills writing on parchment, and the occasional thud from a book falling from it's perch. All in all, it was the ideal location for Daphne to read. There were no distractions here like she would come across in the common room. Students were tucked into their social corners gossiping and acting out, at least here, Daphne could immerse herself in her books and ignore the world around her.
However, like most blissful moments, it all has to come to an end. This end was in the form of a shadow obscuring the light from the floating candle near her table, "If I wanted to read in the dark I would have locked myself in a cupboard, so if you don't mind?" Not even bothering to lift her gaze from the page she was on, a hand lifted instead, motioning for the body to move out of her light.
