"Been alright," he said, turning the tv down a little. "Went to the party last night. Typical high society do. It was Sariah's birthday party in name only. Really, it was just an excuse to get them all together to do that kind of schmoozing business they all love so much. I saw Father shaking hands with Malfoy's father and looking positively gleeful."
He sighed. "I just wish they'd bothered to ask Sariah what she wanted. I highly doubt it would have been anything like last night."
He reached over and rummaged in a drawer of the table beside the couch, and tossed a couple of different takeaways menus at her. "So what do you fancy for dinner? We can order in Chinese or pizza, or we could take a stroll down to the fish and chip shop."
