Who: Bucky Barnes/Natasha Romanoff What: Sushi Surprise Where: A local sushi place When: Sunday night Warning: TBD
It wasn't a well-known place, the little basement restaurant about two or three blocks down from the Station, but it was secretly one of Bucky's favorites to escape to. Especially on nights like this, when he figured he just needed to be alone for a little while and have a meal and a drink away from anything or anyone too familiar. He'd even gotten to know the guy behind the bar (Sam, oddly enough), a local kid who was studying at Berkeley to get his PhD, but worked as a sushi chef on weekends to help pay rent.
He was working on his second bowl of sashimi, idly checking his phone with a half-finished bottle of saki in front of him and minding his own business. Really, it was a pretty typical sight for anyone in the dark restaurant, and Bucky wasn't expecting to see anyone he knew. Usually, he had dinner with the girls, but sometimes he needed to remind himself he wasn't their dad which was getting harder, considering he felt like he was kind of raising them more and more these days), and that he could make his own life. His own choices. That's what he told himself, anyway. That he needed these escapes.
But the truth was, it was kind of a place where he could do a little bit of self-loathing in peace. He really shouldn't be alone in his thoughts for long, but every once in a while it kind of helped.
