Who: Dylan Lenivy and OPEN.
What: Arriving in a new world.
Where: Just outside the station.
When: Sunday afternoon.
If Dylan was honest with himself (and it wasn't often that he was) he probably should have let them take him to the hospital. He was missing a hand, he was dirty, and he was covered in blood and not all of it was his. But he had heard Laura's story-- about how the police were not only involved in the conspiracy but that they were actively kidnapping and detaining the people who knew about it. They'd held her and Max for months, letting the world think they'd gotten lost or abandoned their duties at camp. And the fact that Chris Hackett, their mentor had known all along what would happen--- well, Dylan wasn't in a trusting mood. Even if it was day light. And he definitely wasn't in the quarry anymore.
He had sat through enough of their speech to know where they were putting him. They'd given him a phone and a credit card and honestly, his first instinct was to call Ryan or Kaitlyn to make sure they were okay, but the phone wouldn't connect the calls. He stopped outside the building, sitting down on a bench outside and weighed his options.
Could he even get back to the camp? They had given him money, and ID. He could buy a ticket. But who knows what he would find there? Did he really want to know if Kaitlyn and Abi and Emma and Ryan weren't okay? He put the frying pan down next to him, and rubbed his face. His hand was really starting to hurt, which was in part from the meds wearing down and reality of his situation setting in. Fuck. He might throw up if he thought about it too long.
He pulled out the papers they had given him again. Veronica Mars. Apartment 218. He would go in, get a feel for the situation, and leave again if he had to.
He stood, awkwardly stuffing his pockets with all of his things before picking up his frying pan and spinning it half-heartedly. "You can do this." He told himself, before entering the apartment building.
