what's up? SATURDAY, OCT. 23 - WEDNESDAY, OCT. 27

It is typically difficult to spot Bats in San Francisco (source: here), but your character will spot a swarm outside the Station. Once you spot this swarm, you freeze and experience your worst nightmare. This nightmare may have happened in your canon past or it might just be a fear your character has. However, you are stuck living it for a full fifteen minutes before you wake up in the same place you saw the bats.

	Bucky: His is killing Stark's parents. He has a lot of nightmares to deal with, but that one haunts him because he knew Howard Stark and because of what it did to Steve and Tony. Tony - Tony is going to see everyone he loves Turning into dust, starting with the moment that Peter said he didn't feel good, and then watching Bruce and Pepper and Morgan and Happy and Rhodey all the Avengers leaving him completely alone.

Dee - Dee is going have a nightmare about being in the middle of the ocean and drowning. She's not a great swimmer and she's pretty afraid of it. She's going to feel like its some sort of future vision and be a little creeped out about everything for a little while. Bruce can expect tears.

Klaus - Klaus is going to get some war flashbacks, especially seeing Dave Die in front of him. He's going to be... very problematic.

Natasha Romanoff: Upon seeing the bats, Natasha's nightmare will proceed to make her relive the moment in which she and Yelena were separated and returned to the Red Room. This is after they left Ohio and flew to Cuba.

Christine Palmer: Her nightmare will be when she had to save Stephen's life. Except, that did not happen. Despite her efforts, Christine was not able to save him. Which I'm sure resulted in some not-so-great fall out for the world, but that's for another time!

Kate Bishop: Kate's nightmare brings her back to the time she and the other Young Avengers fought against an inter-dimensional parasite that they named MOTHER. The parasite had the ability to infect parents, alive and dead, if the parasite was near the vicinity in which said parent died. Other adults were also blind to what MOTHER actually was, and what she was doing. Canonly, Kate was the only other fortunate Young Avenger not to have her Mom attack her. However, her nightmare will say otherwise, thus forcing Kate to battle against her mother despite definitely not wanting to. Oh, and she most certainly is losing.

Natasha; Saturday Evening (Pre-Bar Visit) - Narrative

Bucky had not been the first one to mention bats. A few others had and, by then, it had caught Natasha’s attention. Zoology was not her strong suit. Far from it. Were bats meant to be in this area? Seeing them at dusk and during the evening could be natural. Some of the sightings had been reported during the day, though.

That was odd. Unnatural. Out of place.

The irony wasn’t lost on her one bit.

It seemed things had already taken off and were moving at high speed the moment she had hit the floor days ago. The mixing of dimensions, locations, and time frames were just the beginning.

She had Yelena there and out for blood it seemed. Clint’s blood, of course. Not her Clint, but Barton nonetheless. There was possibly a poetic statement in there somewhere. A Clint by any other name was just as sweet? That was most assuredly possible.

There were a lot of things Nat still had to balance and set in stone, but drinks with good people, old and new, was going to take the winning spot on her priority list. She needed a day, at the very least, to really let everything set in. Especially the fact that she was alive.

Making the promise that she wouldn’t be too far behind Barnes, Natasha would have been only minutes behind him.

Except for the bats.

It was late. Late enough that they would be flitting about but swarming? No. Something was wrong. There was something about them, though. Natasha could barely make out how many there were, but it felt as though there were dozens. Circling and chirping and --

"Mama! Mama! No! Don’t you take her!"

She recognized that voice. The accent. The Russian that was as natural as English.

It was her, but she was different. Younger. The fading blue hair. The hot sun and the faint smell of salty waters. A faint aroma of old blood. More Russian. Angry voices. Yelling. Alexei assuring her everything would be okay. To take care of herself. Melina trying to sooth her from a stretcher. Telling her to protect herself, her heart, her sister.

Yelena.

The little girl’s cries for her sister, for Natasha, was all she could hear. So little and nearly helpless then. Natasha could feel herself thrashing, twisting and turning to get to Yelena. She didn’t care who she hurt. She didn’t care if she made grown men cry. She waved a gun around wildly, making demands in Russian, giving Dreykov a hard look of absolute hate.

"You let her go! Yelena! Let her go! I’ll shoot! I’ll kill you all!"

"Yelena!"

People passing by had either stopped or were hurrying past her. Still right outside The Station, barely steps outside the main entrance, Natasha stood looking panicked. One hand was held out reaching for someone that wasn’t there. The other pointing at a target that was long gone. No gun. No Russian soldiers. No Dreykov. Just her, shaking from head to toe, breathing hard, and not a bat in sight.
