It had been a few crazy days. May had only read about time travel and thought it was hogwash until she woke up in San Francisco. Not only was she away from her family for the first time in her life, but she was getting used to the idea that she was an older woman living here normally. Still, she was making the best of what most everyone said should only be temporary.

She was trying to still be there for Peter even at her new age so she was cooking dinner while Peter did something in his room. "Peter!" She called. "Can you set the table?"

Earlier that morning, Peter had been his usual, cheerful, good student self. He'd gone to class, he'd turned in his history project, and then he'd gone home. He didn't need to work that night and he didn't have plans with Dee or his friends, so he thought maybe he'd take a nap for an hour or so. Super metabolism didn't necessarily make him less tired after school and occasionally patrolling for "bad guys".

But Peter didn't wake up that 17 year old high school student. His nightmare of being 5 was at least avoided. Instead, he was a relatively cheerful but scared of suddenly not being in his room twelve.

He heard May calling him to set the table. So she was here? Even if this wasn't their house, she was here so he hadn't been kidnapped. Or...they had both been kidnapped and yet she was still somehow worried about the table. "Um. May?" He peeked out the door of the bedroom, but not before he glimpsed the photos on the wall. They were of kids a few years older than him, looking super happy. And May. There were a few with her. But...she looked different?

"Did we get kidnapped?" He finally blurted, stepping into the hallway.

	"What?" Peter sounded different than he had only hours earlier and May was smart enough to put the pieces together even before she joined him in the hall. "Oh, honey," she said gently. "It's me," she said quickly. "It's May, I'm just younger than you remember." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Oh. That was not what he expected at all. Peter was fairly smart for his age, he was in all the advanced classes and he was a shoo in for the program at MSST. But even his little head was spinning at the moment. "Um." Apparently that was his new favorite word? "Ummmm. How?" (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Shit. May was not prepared for this conversation. "We traveled through time and space," she explained. "I'm not sure how exactly, but usually we're both older. I'm more 'aunt' age and you are 17. But it is okay!" She didn't want to spook the child. "Are you okay, baby? This is just a big adventure!" She really hoped everyone was right about their current predicament being short-term. How was she supposed to take care of a pre-teen?

	"That's pretty old," Peter pondered out loud, despite it only being a whole five years difference. "So you're not aunt age now? How old are aunts?" He hadn't really thought about how old May was before. Maybe that was mean. He should pay more attention on her next birthday. And the pancakes. He was definitely making her pancakes. 	May chuckled. "Yeah, I know, over the hill." She paused. "I mean you can be an aunt at any age, really, but I'd be a really young one." Which she wasn't in his time. "Well duh, of course I'm still your nephew." That was just silly, nothing was going to change that. Even May being so little. Well, not little. Or more little, she was basically the same height as always. "Wait." He rushed back into the room he came out of and came back with one of the photos in his hand. "Does that mean that's me?" That made sense, he didn't look that different</i> really. "And...is that Ned? Grown up Ned??" Wow. This was a really weird day.

	She grinned at his curiosity. He looked so cute and she couldn't help feeling protective immediately. "That's Ned," she replied. "You have other friends here too. And family next door." Or at least Tony said they were family. (Reply to this) (Parent)
