James sighed as he set about the kitchen. He had been replaying the conversation that James had had with his father figure on Cher’s post. It had taken him some time to figure out exactly what it was that drew him to Cher but there was more than one thing. She was surprisingly intelligent, she was beautiful, and she was determined. He had to admit that seeing her with super strength was probably a little more attractive than it should have been.

But James had taken to isolating himself. Any time outside of the apartment would become overwhelming since he had been able to hear people from large distances. He would worry about how to ask Cher out later. Maybe.

James had set about making lunch for the two of them. That was the benefit of living through the apocalypse, James knew how to do more domestic things, like how to cook and handle himself in the kitchen. He had just finished frying up some burgers and french fries when his dad came into the room.

“Hey, how is your skin feeling?” He asked him, his eyebrows raised. “I made lunch.”

Tony had been tinkering in his room on some projects, but the smell of food got to him and he left his stuff behind to join his son. The novelty of steel skin he couldn't take off wore off days ago and Tony ached for his human form again. "Smells good," he told James, side-stepping his question. He went to the cupboard and pulled out dishes for them. "Hearing is still sensitive, kid?" He did his best to keep his tone low so he didn't add to the agitation.

	"Thanks, my old man taught me." He winked. James just nodded a bit, and grabbed the buns from the cabinet. "It's better when I am inside, I think cause the walls kinda keep the sound from hitting as hard." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"Old man sounds cool," Tony teased as he set the dishes down on the table. He went to the fridge and pulled out cans of cola. "If this goes on much longer, I'll figure something to keep the sounds out," he promised. "Special ear plugs." His mind was already turning with the ideas. He helped James carry the food to the table and then sat down. He prepared his burger and glanced at James. "How are your friends? You know you can invite them around here, hm?"

“Yeah, I don’t know if I should tell you this, but I’m like a pretty big fan of him.” James said with a teasing smile. James began to prepare his own burger. James shrugged a little bit, “I’m sure it will be okay. I’m honestly more worried about Cher breaking something.” Not that he had been listening out for if she needed help or not.

“I know I can.” He grinned. “I’m not as social as Ned or Peter or Dee.”

	"Is she any calmer?" Tony asked. He took a bite of his food and washed it down with his soda. "If anything, invite her around," he said with a teasing smile. "I'd like to know her better," he added more seriously. He was happy James had a chance at a normal life in San Francisco; he just wished his other kids had the same chance. 	Tony grinned. "Nice try," he said. "It's not all it's cracked up to be anyway." Truthfully, Tony cut down on drinking once the world went to shit and he had a bunch of kids to raise.
