Entry tags:!gamewide plot (generic), marvel: peter parker (mcu), marvel: tony stark (mcu), ~!game plot: move in day

Who: Tony Stark and Peter Parker
What: Seeing his kid
Where: The Parker Apartment
When: Move in Day

Tony wasn’t thrilled about being displaced, or losing his money, but when he was reconnected with his family-- when his wife told him about the future, well, Tony was okay with what they had. They could rebuild. They would rebuild. Tony would rather have his family than his money anyway.

There was only one person outside of his family that Tony needed to see. The one person that he had been willing to sacrifice the world to bring back, to introduce to his daughter. To bring back to live the life he deserved.

After getting Morgan’s room a little more set up, he moved to see Peter. He knocked on the door of their apartment, conveniently close by, and he let out a breath that he hadn’t realized he’d been holding.

“Pete,” Tony called through the door, “May? It’s Tony.”

Peter was...adjusting. He hadn't really minded it in the shelter, especially once he'd made friends with Kate and learned she was like him, from another world entirely. And now he was here and May and Morgan and Mrs. S were here. But when Pepper had come back over to tell him...

He was sitting on the couch, still getting his head together. Everything was blurry, and he was having way too many memories of Quentin Beck's illusions. Maybe, in the end, this was just another one. It was possible, wasn't it? He'd made weirder ones. More in depth ones. But it wouldn't have lasted this long. But what if Beck had come through, too? And if he'd had enough time, and he was so manipulative...

But when he heard that voice at the door, he knew. Somehow, he just knew. And if he was being screwed with again... Well. It would hardly have been the first time he'd trusted someone he shouldn't have. And he couldn't not go see Tony Stark. Tony Stark alive and well. Maybe.

He made his way to the door and peeked out the peephole. He had to physically brace himself and force himself to breathe before he pulled the door open.

And, for the first time in his sixteen years, Peter Parker was speechless.

“You look like you’ve seen a ghost.” Tony couldn’t help the horrible joke that rolled off his tongue. Jokes made things easier right? But god, he was happy to see the kid. He remembered seeing him practically dissolve right before his eyes. He reached out and pulled the teenager towards him, pulling him into a tight hug.

“I’m here kid.” He said gently. But Tony had so many questions. Tony had put so many things in place for if he didn’t come back. He had programmed the hologram. He’d designed E.D.I.T.H. he had hoped beyond measure that his kid would come back.

Ordinarily, Peter would have groaned at such a horrible joke. A 'dad' joke, if you will. But he could barely even focus on anything other than the fact that it was really him. Tony Stark, standing in front of him, like nothing had happened. Like Thanos and the gauntlet and none of it.

"I... You are. You're here." And he was hugging him and while Peter was ecstatic and grateful, he was also having flashbacks to being mid battle and getting a very similar hug. And then he remembered what came just after that and he had to pull back, gasping for breath. "How? How are you... You're just... You're okay?"

“I think I have some heartburn from lunch… can’t eat like I used to you know.” Tony knew what the kid was asking him, but he was still working on feeling more serious about it all. He pulled back, just slightly, to look at Peter as if he would turn to dust if Tony squeezed him too hard.

“I’m here kid. Was about to do this whole time travel scheme when I showed up here. Got told where to find my family, and here I am. Right through that door.” He gestured to the door next door. “Any time you need me.”

He studied the kid again, “How are you feeling?”

Peter gave a small, breathy laugh, but at least it was a genuinely happy sound. This just didn't feel real still. Months in a shelter in another dimension, that he could handle. Especially now that he was here and safe and he had May and Pepper and Morgan were right next door.

But now so was Tony. And he wasn't entirely sure how to handle that. "I...don't know," he admitted. "I'm from after you are, obviously. Kind of a lot." Seeing as Tony had only just been about to do the time traveling thing. Which meant he didn't even know Peter was back.

"Oh! But I'm here. It worked, see, the time traveling and the stones and all. You guys got the stones and Dr. Banner got us all back!" He held out his arms and forced a smile, trying his best to look reassuring when honestly, it sort of felt like the entire world was collapsing.
