Buck & Maddie & Tommy
Rating: Low • Date: 5/5 • Location: Their Apt
Buck, Maddie, and Tommy hang out.

The mouthwatering aroma of freshly popped popcorn wafted throughout the cozy apartment, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. It blended beautifully with the subtle, refreshing scent of Maddie’s citrus-scented candle flickering softly on the kitchen counter, casting a gentle glow over the space. Buck reclined lazily across the overstuffed couch, dressed in his favorite gray sweatpants, one leg dangling off the edge as if he’d completely surrendered to relaxation. With a remote clutched in one hand, he scrolled through the extensive list of movie options for the third time, his brow furrowed in concentration. “Alright, I promise I’m not being overly picky,” he said, glancing back and forth between Maddie and Tommy, his tone a mixture of exasperation and determination. “I just don’t want to waste our time on something that completely bombs.”

Maddie leaned back against the cushions, legs tucked beneath her as she tossed a piece of popcorn toward Buck—missing by a mile, but the effort counted. “You are being overly picky, and we love you anyway,” she said with a grin, voice warm with affection.

She shot a look over at Tommy. “At this rate, the popcorn’s going to be gone before we even hit the opening credits.” She joked and turned her attention back to Buck. “Just pick something mildly entertaining and we’ll roast it if it’s bad. You know, like we always do.”

Then, teasing gently, she added, “Besides, I think we all know you secretly enjoy the ones that bomb. Admit it, you live for a good disaster movie night.” She glanced toward the screen, then back at him. “Honestly, if it’s that bad, we’ll just turn it off and let Tommy pick something ridiculous instead. That can be our thing now. Bad movie roulette.”

Her eyes softened as she added, “You don’t have to get it perfect, Buck. We’re here for the company more than the plot.” Then, teasing again, “Unless it’s that alien musical again, in which case—I’m leaving.”

Tommy leaned back into the worn fabric of the couch, a playful smirk dancing across his lips as he crossed his arms and took in Evan’s concentrated expression. “Come on, Evan,” he urged, chuckling lightly. “It’s not like we’re sitting down to judge films for the Oscars. We want something that’ll entertain us and maybe get a few laughs. Plus, worst case, we can always tease the movie if it’s terrible, right?”

He reached over to the large bowl of popcorn on the coffee table, grabbing a handful and tossing a few kernels into his mouth with a theatrical flair, crunching down with gusto. The buttery flavor burst in his mouth, adding to his enthusiasm. Leaning forward, he rested his elbows on his knees, his eyes sparkling with mischief. “How about we do this—if you don’t find something worthwhile in the next minute, I’m calling dibs on ‘Sharknado.’ What do you think?”

His grin widened as he shot a glance at Maddie, who was quietly enjoying the moment. “It’ll be our own little movie night emergency, and who doesn’t love a good, ridiculous disaster film? Think of all the crazy one-liners! You know it’ll be a blast.” Tommy leaned back, suddenly realizing how comfortable he was with these two people. actually surprising himself.

Buck looked between Maddie and Tommy. "Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm trying to pick something." But for some reason, nothing sounded good. And it wasn't like they were wrong. They could always stop the movie or make fun of it if it's horrible.

After a moment of contemplation, Buck’s face lit up with an idea as he turned to Maddie. "Actually," he said, extending the remote toward her, "I’ll let you take the reins this time." He wiggled the remote playfully, a lighthearted challenge in his voice. "Go on; you can be the master of movie night. I’m officially retiring from decision-making," he added with a dramatic flair, sinking back against the cushions, eager to see what Maddie would choose.

Maddie lit up at his idea, happily taking the remote. “Oh really? Does this mean you’re retiring for the night or forever?” She asked with a dramatic flair to her tone and facial expression then laughed. She knew what she wanted. “I’m not gonna lie. I really like the Sharknado idea.” She laughed and finally found it, pushing play. “Tommy, I agree! Who doesn’t love a silly natural disaster movie?” She asked with a chuckle. “Besides, I’m a sucker for Ian.” She said with a dreamy look in her eyes and popped a piece of popcorn into her mouth. “Also, sharks in a tornado! Just awesome.”

"I was more of a Jason guy myself," Tommy returned back. shooting Evan a fond look and a wink.” Tommy chuckled, shaking his head in mock disbelief. “You are something else, you know that? Only you could get so excited about a tornado full of sharks,” he teased, grabbing a handful of popcorn. “But hey, if it makes you happy, ” He leaned back into the couch, a grin spreading on his face. “Let’s see if they can top the last one. Who knew that flying sharks could be so entertaining?” He settled in, ready for the chaos to unfold on screen.

"I'm just retiring for the night. Like I'm going to let you two always have control of what we watch," he said in a playful tone. "So, are we really going to watch that?" It would appear so since Maddie got it started. He once again looked between his sister and his boyfriend. "Who?" He had no idea who either one of them were talking about.

“Uh yeah! You gave me control and this is what I choose!” She said with a laugh. Maddie looked to Tommy and gave an “aw” look before looking back at her brother. “Ian is from 90210. Jason was his co-star on the show. Both very attractive. But there is just something about Ian that makes me all googly eyed.” She said with a laugh. “Pfft, oh Tommy. The things you will soon learn about me.” She smiled and tossed some popcorn into her mouth.

Tommy turned to Evan with a mischievous grin, his eyes twinkling with playful mockery. "So, tell me, will it be a showdown between Ian and… Sharknado? Because if we’re talking about iconic characters here, I think we need to consider the threat level of flying sharks seriously!” Tommy snagged Evan's hand, twining their fingers together.

He leaned closer, feigning seriousness. “Can Ian even compete with the sheer chaos of a tornado filled with sharks? I feel like that’s a pretty high bar to clear.”

Tommy leaned back against the cushions. "I think this is a sibling thing, so I'm good with anything as long as you keep feeding me popcorn."

"Oh, okay." Now it made sense why he had no idea who those actors were. He was a kid the entire time the show had been on but he did vaguly remember Maddie watching it.

Buck looked over at Tommy, a confused look on his face. "What are you going on about? And what sibling thing?" They hadn't done anything, so Buck was just confused. About everything.

Maddie looked to Buck with confusion etched all over her face. “Yeah, what sibling thing?” She chewed on some popcorn as she sat there confused by what Tommy had said. “Right now the siblings are sharing some confusion.” She said with a laugh. “Buck, what’d you put in that popcorn over there?” She asked with another laugh. “Oooh look! Flying sharks!” She said as she pointed to the tv.

Tommy shoved some popcorn in his mouth, shrugging his shoulders. "I just meant you two work well together, and I am going to sit back, eat popcorn, and let you figure out what we're watching."

Tommy laughed. "What do you think possessed them to make a movie about flying sharks?"

Buck looked over at Tommy and then back at the TV and then back at Tommy again. "Maddie already started the movie..."

He shrugged. "I don't know. Money? Reactions to the weirdness? Both?"

As the movie went on and Buck got more comfortable on the couch, he eventually fell asleep.

Maddie just looked at him with more confusion. But she didn’t say anything, she just turned her attention back to the movie.

They seemed to quiet down and actually watch the movie for a bit. But when she heard some snoring happening, Maddie glared at her brother who seemed to have just fallen asleep. Grabbing the pillow from behind her, she tossed it in his direction but hit Tommy instead. “Oops. Sorry.” She laughed. “That was meant for Buck. Mind hitting him with it? Wake his ass up!”

Tommy didn't care if Evan fell asleep or stayed awake; he thought he was adorable either way. He can't help the fond look that crossed his face as he took Evan's sleeping form in.

Tommy caught the pillow, grinning at Maddie. "But he looks adorable!"

Since nobody woke him up, Buck was still asleep, having no idea what was going on around him.

“Ugh, fine! You let him sleep.” She stood from her chair and stretched. She walked over to the kitchen and set her popcorn bowl in the sink before making her way over to the couch. “I enjoyed it, glad you joined us for the movie. Even if Buck just passed out on us.” She chuckled. “And youuuuuu, Tommy dear, get to clean up. Have a good night!” She said with a bit of a singy tone in her voice as she skipped her way to her room and shut the door.

Tommy laughed, quietly. “No problem, Maaaadie,l” Tommy responded before trying to gently get off the couch without waking Evan up.

“I’ll be right back, sweetheart”

Buck had no idea what was going on since he was asleep. He did wake up at some point and noticed the TV was off and he didn't see anyone. He got up, went to his and Tommy's bedroom and climbed into bed. It wasn't long before he passed out yet again.
