Natasha wasn't really paying attention when she opened the door and didn't notice the figure standing by the window. Her mind was going in a hundred different directrions and it was a couple of minutes before she realized that she wasn't alone. Reaching for the knife she had in her back pocket, she approached slowly.

"Turn around nice and easy ," she said quietly. "It's Christmas and I might be inclined to be nice but let me see your face." Then the person turned around and she dropped the knife as her mouth fell open "Holy Fucking Shit! You dumbass, I could have killed you! What...how...what are you doing here?" This was definitely the Clint Barton she knew, there was no question about it but how did he get here?

Clint huffed a laugh out as he turned, his hands raised. "If you shoot me, you're explaining it to Laura and the kids." He looked at her with a mix of joy and sadness washing over him. "That's not likely. If you wanted to kill me there are so many other times you could have and not so many questions."

Clint stepped forward, a step, wanting to reach out but not knowing if he would be welcomed or not. "I was thinking about you and then I was here... so how's it going?"

Natasha put the knife down and walked over to wrap her arms around him. He was real, she wasn't dreaming, she could touch him and see him and it was more than she could have hoped for. "How do you thinkk I am?" she joked as she pulled back and looked up at him, not moving from his arms.

"You were thinking about me and then you're here? How did htat happen? I'm not complainiing but I didn't think I'd ever......well..." she still couldn't say the words 'i died' even though she knew she had. "How are Laura and the kids? Are they okay?"

Clint decided as he held Natasha in his arms again, that if he died, he could die at peace with himself. He took a minute and buried his face into her shoulder. He pulled back when she did but he didn't let her go either. He grinned at her. "I'm glad and I could give a shit why I'm here. I'm just glad that I am. You... left a Nat-shaped hole in my family and it sucks." He breathed out a laugh.

"Laura is doing good, better now that she has her stuff back... long story. Hey, as long as I'm here thanks for telling me about Yelena...You saved my ass again," Clint gave her a sad smile.

"Jesus, I miss you..."

She sighed, she knew that what she'd done had hurt him, it had been hard to look up into his eyes and know that she would never seen him again but she still believed she did the right thing. "I miss you too. I'm glad I got another chance here but I kept wondering if you were okay, if you got Laura and the kids back. I was told that what we did worked but I needed to hear it from you." She reached up and touched his face, still not quite believing that he was here.

"You're welcome. Yelena told me that she had set out to kill you. Glad she didn't. There's another you heer by the way, I haven't met him yet. Something about mutliverses and all that time travel stuff that Tony and Bruce talked about," she shook her head. "She went after him when she got here but apparently there was another me that stopped her. She's not here now, obviously. I told Yelena the whole story, I'm not sure she believes me but she's not here at the moment so you're good." Besides if this was some kind of Christmas Carol thing, she wouldn't be able to see him anyway, would she?
