It wasn't that Mobius didn't have any self preservation, he would speak his mind if he was worried about his own safety, but he was also willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good. He wondered sometimes if Don had been like that, or if this was something that was somehow programmed into him by He Who Remained. Really, ever since he'd had a moment to think, he'd wondered a lot about what was him and what might have been programmed into him. He was pretty sure he actually liked jet skis, but he thought he might need to actually get on one before he decided for sure. That was how uncertain he was about everything.
Though in the moment, he was not unsure about Asriel, which was perhaps due to the scotch or perhaps was simply just that he'd never had the time to consider these things before. He didn't know and at the moment, didn't care. And that was due to the scotch.
"Yeah, or at least I was," Mobius said, laughing a bit. "I could have worse mistresses. At least you're a good time." The banter between them felt so easy, almost as easy as talking to Loki, which was another big reason why Mobius didn't want the night to end. He'd always had an easy way with people, but not all of those people really got to hear what he was really thinking or feeling. Even Ravonna hadn't had that kind of insight.
Mobius chuckled again. "Oh? Is that all it takes? Fake it 'til you make it, right? Wish I'd had that kind of insight before I told you how green I am with all of this." He gave Asriel a fond look, clearly enjoying their conversation even if he was still blushing a bit. A little embarrassment never hurt him before.
A bit of nervous energy shot through Mobius at that, but he did his best to appear calm. Was he a bit scared of what might happen? Yes. Did he also want to find out more than anything? Also yes.
