It had been too long since they'd last seen each other. Asriel knew for a fact that he had a few more strands of silver in his hair than before. The crow's feet were a bit more defined around his eyes. He'd aged. Like everyone else did. But Marisa? She was timeless. It was quite the task to tear his gaze away from her. But hadn't that always been the problem?
"I had thought to wait for you. But I had to stop and grab this-" Asriel sneakily pulled out a bright orange-and-red flower from the inside of his coat. It was a variation of a lily. He'd discovered a flower shop on the way here, lucky him. It wasn't a full bouquet, like the florist tried to get him to purchase. Just one on its own. He held it out for her with the hope that perhaps it would soften her towards him.
At least just a little.
He waited with her as she chose her drink. The barista already had his hot and waiting for him. He scooped it up once her's was finished and led her over to the table by the window. "There is still plenty to explore here. And plenty of people to distract me," the last part he blew out a frustrated sigh. It was true. There wasn't much to do here for him except ..well, be forced to enjoy himself. "It's been one party after another. I've acquainted myself with some of the others like us but there's been no way out that I've discovered." He quirked an eyebrow at her over his drink. "You asked about Lyra when you first arrived. Does that mean you've met her?"
