Second Chances: the Network

Is it weird that I miss my parents the most when I remember my birthday is coming up? Like, not either of their birthdays but my birthday specifically?

Or is that just selfish?

Anyway, sorry, I don't mean to bring anybody down. This one essay I have to write has me all in my feels suddenly.

I have been here long enough to see times like these, where a larger group arrives or returns all at once. It does not make anything easier, it will likely never get any more easy to deal with when we lose loved ones.

But now is a time for support. Ask for it, provide it, whatever you need or are able to do. Check on your neighbors, "our people" or otherwise. The smallest offering can make a world of difference in times like these. We are in this together.

It isn't exactly a pattern but it's a little strange how many of us are from very far in the future. Which brings up the point of how chaotic the choices are as far as where people land here from.

I know I had reservations about joining the military to get away from the homestead and all the bullshit that came with it but this is still not what I meant.

I think I need some help. Like a lot of help. Like I have no idea why a spell that was supposed to reverse the age on a loaf of bread within the diagram instead reversed the age of random people in the building and I definitely made it worse trying to fix it. Is anyone good at magical troubleshooting?

The catch is that nobody but me can read the spells, Arra enchanted the laptop so it just looks like a game of spider solitaire to anyone looking at the screen but me. So... yeah.

Since there is just over a week to make plans before the festivities across the city happen, what is everyone doing for Pride?

I sort of miss the everything is strawberry day.

There are some things that should never taste like strawberries. Lasagna, for example. But in general, it wasn't too bad. I happen to like strawberry as a flavor, though.

Definitely preferring that sort of magical nonsense to, say, shrinking people down to mini size? Literally what is the point of that. I don't need to be worried about animals in the apartment making chew toys out of my roommates.

Now, I'm not looking for a fuss here, but I was wondering if you might wanna do something with me for it. I have zero ideas, mind you, my birthday is usually just another day of the week to me.

We could get dinner or something though, maybe? Cake.

I am also open to suggestion.
