Back in my day, if the weather was too bad for anyone to get to work or school, it was all cancelled.

Now everything can be done online. Point for the convenience, but negative points for sitting in front of a computer all day.

I understand that people do that for a living, but that is not what my future holds.

Though, I have been learning about field medicine, and seem to have picked that up these last few weeks.

This is a pretty inconvenient time for heating to be busted in the classrooms.

I felt compelled to start something in the new year to challenge myself that isn’t academic so I’m taking a martial arts class after school. Too late to include that on any college applications but that’s okay, telling myself not everything has to be for the purpose of reaching that goal. I should be hearing back from one. Any day now.

Today was my first day of this world's schooling, and I can't say I'm particularly impressed. It's very very different from my studies back on Alderaan, especially because I haven't been attending a formal school for several years. I'm trying to be positive about the experience, but the classes I'm taking aren't really applicable to me at all. I was able to sign up for a language class, though, and I'm looking forward to that the most.

Also, can someone explain to me what pickle ball is? It's my physical education requirement, but I thought pickles were those soured green vegetables that come in a jar at the market?

I'm officially signed up for college classes at San Francisco State for the spring semester. I wasn't even sure if I was going to continue with college here, but hey, I might as well, right?

I'm not sure if I'm going to continue with the business route here, so I'm undeclared for now. Though I am going to see if there's an archery team. I also signed up to learn ASL. Never hurts to pick up new skills, right?

I can't explain it but I got real good at crochet. River and I got so much yarn still but we had a lot of fun. I made hats for all the guys at the garage because it gets cold with the bays all open and the new guy Luke ain't even minded it was pink!

I feel like maybe I "crushed" (right??) my resolution already. What'd everybody else get up to? Besides the whole wolf thing. That was weird. But everyone's okay now, right?

Some days I don't know what to do with myself but that's ok. It's all shiny.

I never thought I'd be a hipster douchebag, but here we are. Me making my own beer in the comfort of my apartment. Anyone legal want to help out as a taste tester? I've been experimenting with different recipes and techniques, and I'll be honest, I've tasted so much beer at this point that I can't tell the difference anymore.

i didn't know there was an actual name for making fancy drinks. mixology? also didn't know you couldn't buy the most important things to put in the fancy drinks if you were under 21, so that was a no go. nobody really worried or cared about that kind of thing back home. luckily i found some cool ones that i've been playing with that don't require any of that. evie would say they're too pretty to drink but what's the point in making food if you don't eat it?

I took up a new hobby and now I appear to be drowning in skeins of yarn. Amusingly enough, despite this, I feel like my mother would be deeply proud of me for finally deciding to learn how to do something properly ladylike with my time.
