The thing I'm most thankful for this year is that at Halloween I asked the most beautiful, brilliant, and intelligent woman in the world to marry me. And I'm even MORE thankful that Dee said yes!

Yes, it's a little earlier than we initially planned but this place is chaotic at best and it felt like the time to do the asking.

No, we haven't set a date, everything is still very much in the planning stage and we might do the long engagement thing cause, you know, still in school and all and we're going to probably play it by ear.

After this week, there's only one week left of class. Then we have a week that EVERYONE IS CALLING HELL WEEK!!!!!!!! to study and write and do all the things for finals. Then finals.

I'm freaking out. Completely freaking out. Why do they all think they're the only class I have?! I have so much to do. I'm never gonna get it all done and I'm going to forget everything I learned before taking the finals. And how am I supposed to write two 20 page papers?!

So, hello. Most of you don't know me, but I'm Ginny, Albus' mum. His dad and I are going to throw him a birthday party this Sunday, starting at 6 pm at The Bit & Barrel (address here). It will be in the downstairs lounge, so just come in and go down the stairs on your right to find us.

His birthday is the 19th, but this was the only time I could guarantee the space, so Sunday it is.

Gifts are encouraged, but not required. I think Al just wants people to come and enjoy themselves. It's not a surprise party, he knows one is happening, but not the fine details, so please avoid telling him anything. We'll manage to get him there on time.

And if you are seeing this and don't know Al, myself, or Harry (that's his dad), that's okay. You are welcome, too. Use this as an opportunity to get to know your fellow residents.

Hi, yes, hello. I introduced myself when I first got here and you have all been so incredibly welcoming so I'm really hoping I'm not overstepping any bounds here. But see, the thing is, when I got here I had my wife here. And then after she was gone I still had my ward. But now she's gone too. And I have been trying my hardest not to map out every single attack or odd happenstance that I can track down on the network to try to triangulate a location right now because I'm sure that better and more experienced minds than mine are already on it. But it's driving me bonkers and I don't know how much more I can take without something to take my mind off of my sister feeling so helpless.

I don't suppose anyone knows if there are professorial openings at the local college or university that might need a highly-specialized professor with a background that's probably not at all useful in this world? Or I can probably teach British history or British literature or something if I tried hard enough.

It's not every day that your best friend is suddenly years older than you due to alternate universes making time a little weird even by Beacon Hills standards. The obvious benefit to this is that the age jokes get to start that much earlier. (Kidding. Maybe.)

While things are kind of objectively terrible, re: recent mass exodus, life still goes on.

That being established: what are we doing for Stiles's 21st birthday?

I have a couple of ideas, but I'm also totally open to suggestions.

Whatever's happened to the city almost makes me wish I was a biologist. As it is, I've spent much of my free time exploring the various regions - so much biodiversity, it's incredible. It does make me wonder whether you could construct something like this to counter the effects of global warming. Or, back home, to make regions further from the equator more hospitable for dinosaurs.

Unfortunately, though not for lack of trying, I haven't found many fossils, I wonder if that's because these biome regions are not exactly natural - or rather, they were almost instantaneous and not over the thousand or years or more that it normally takes an environment to change.


On a different note, does anyone have a favorite spot for rock climbing around here?

I see your friend has been sent back home. Anything I can do for you? We can hang out or something.

In case you're interested, the 'Dino Days' exhibit at the Natural History museum at the California Academy of Sciences closes tomorrow. It's definitely work checking out and I'm happy to play tour guide if anyone wants a personal tour.

I will be working part-time there and part-time at Berkley's Museum of Paleontology which is really more of a research museum, but I'm hoping to convince them to do more public events as they do have some lovely specimens there.

Well, I certainly did not expect to find myself in San Francisco. Although judging from the fact that there are no dinosaurs roaming around the city, this does not seem to be my San Francisco. Not that San Francisco is mine, I wouldn't presume to suggest that. Er, more this is not the San Francisco from my world.

Er, sorry, this is all just a lot to take in, is all. I was just on Île Saint-Hubert, not that I want to go back there, so this is all just a bit of a shock. Although if we were able to recreate a perverse version of dinosaurs, I should not be surprised at the possibility of universe like ours existing.


Oh, I'm doing this all backwards. I'm Henry Loomis, Dr. Henry Loomis, although I don't know if there's a need for paleontologists here, so maybe the Dr. is irrelevant. I think I need a big cup or coffee or tea. Or maybe something stronger.
