Second Chances: the Network

While the rest of you are doing those dungeons being critter fighting badasses (I don't even know the names of these things wtf??), SOME of us have the biggest month of the year to prep for!

But your girl is TIRED and STRESSED and I can only come up with so many ideas before burnout SO.

First year we did weekend themes and honestly, I can not picture doing better than that and maybe I shouldn't try?

The next year the theme was mostly just live music.

Then last year (God I can't even believe we've been open three years) I was dealing with losing David and I just kinda winged it and ended up with themed nights for the last week of June.

So I turn to you, my beautiful displaced people, but ESPECIALLY my LGBTQIA+ displaced people. What would YOU like to see celebrated at Edge of Glory for PRIDE month? I've got permission to have under 18 till 9pm but last year we did an entire night devoted to Teen Night and I'm not opposed to doing it again (and since no alcohol is served, we can stay open to teens later, bonus). Any other ideas? All suggestions welcomed and reviewed and if the club can't make it happen, I can use my connections to make sure someone around the city can pull something off!

Today is the Mondayest Monday to ever Monday. First, I slept through my alarm, then I spilled my chai as I was rushing out the door, so I had to go back and change. Then my front driver side tire is flat, but I didn't have time to deal with that because I needed to get to campus because I had an interview for a summer internship/pseudo-job, only I missed my bus by literally 30 seconds and watched as it pulled away while I ran to catch it. I made it to the interview in time (yay?), but on my way out, I missed the last step and fell on my face in front of the people I'd just interviewed with as they were going to lunch. I'm okay, but I'm definitely going to have a huge bruise on my knee from where I landed.

Then I had to go to the store on the way home, because I 100000000000% need one very specific item. Like, seriously need it, but I hadn't eaten yet, and I got distracted by everything else, and I just got home and started unpacking all of my snacks and realized the one thing I absolutely need and cannot do without right now is not in any of my bags.

@Hope, @Scott, and @Cassie: Do you need anything from the store? I'm doing instacart...

I'm really glad it's summer vacation, but also I don't think I'll be getting the role I interviewed for, so if anyone needs some part-time help, please keep me in mind? I usually help Lila in her food truck in the mornings, so I'm available most afternoons/evenings.

I said okay to some kind of side quest that's going to take me down into the sewers, underneath the city. Maybe for a few hours, it'll feel like home.

That isn't to say here isn't home now, by the way. It's just complicated, as I imagine it is for most everyone here. Though perhaps not for some of you who have been here far longer than I have.

I've got tickets to the San Francisco Opera's Barber of Seville later this month. I am interested in taking someone with me, preferably on a date, but I'm open to it not being a date as well. If this and dinner out sounds like something you might like, hit me up.

It's weird that Mother's Day has never once bothered me about being A Thing until this year. Thank god it's come and gone, I guess. #donebeingadebbiedowner

I was having some really delicious chicken tikka masala, and I bit down on a cardamom pod. And not even just one. Two. TWO of them.

Upside to not sleeping: you can do the night shift at the 24 hour diner and not fall asleep in class the next day. And people are being weirdly chill about the wings thing.

No wings on me yet, but I'm seeing a powerful need for some wardrobe updates for those of you afflicted. I've got some designs I'm still toying around with, many of which involve tunic cuts and wrap around ties.

Hit me up if you want to try a couple out or want me to take a stab at altering your tops so you can stay decent when you're out there winging around this fair city of ours.

Probably not a bad idea to document who's getting wings. I haven't seen anything about it on the local outlets, so it seems this might be another "just us" sort of thing.

It's been awhile since I've been here. Although what the hell did you all do? Bay area is supposed to be mild weather and queer love - but it's colder than a witch's tit out there. Is this nuclear winter/permafrost we were warned about?

At least I've got my coat here. Can't imagine if I showed up here in just my birthday suit. I mean, it would have gotten some attention, but I'd be a tad worried for the safety of my best assets.

Hi. I've been meaning to get in touch with you guys, and I guess now is as good a time as any. I'm Adam. I was pre-med back home and I'm looking into getting back into that here, but until it's official, I figured I should let you guys know in an emergency, or if someone comes through who's got some "dependent on a chemical that doesn't even exist here" situation, I've got this healing thing going on and I'm pretty sure I could fix a chemical dependency to at least be to something that actually exists in this reality.

With the weather situation right now, I can teleport too, so if you need medical supplies or anything, I can pick stuff up. Just say the word.

I'm really glad I listened to that little voice in my head that told me to buy some warm gloves, a hat, and a heavy coat a month ago. I've never experienced cold like this before, and I hope to never do so again.

I'm also really glad I don't have to venture out into it, much. Online school would've been a boon back in the 80's, and I'm thankful for it now.
